Five 300CD's preperation for sale

My friend Ray has five 300CD's, purchased many years ago as an investment.

They have been in a pole barn 25+ years.

Now I am assessing and resolving a random selection of maintenance issues that directly impact sale value.

First is a 1982 300CD.

Replaced:

#1. Shift rod bushings and clips (bushings where missing and clips ruined).
#2. Front "Bilstein" shock absorbers (where dead factory original).
#3. Left and right "FAG" front wheel bearing kits (gorilla over tightened lock nut = ruined bearings / races).
#4. Front "BOSCH" rotors (inner face rust pitted 1.5mm = junk).
#5. Antenna grommet (missing).
#6. Rear "Sachs" shock absorbers (where totally blown out factory original = Pogo stick).
#7. Wiper blades.
#8. Cleaned battery and terminals.
#9. Cleaned hood hinge area drains.
#10. Corrected Bowden cable bell crank rotation = from clock wise to counter clock wise = fixed shifting issue.

.

He has the right man for the job Hunter , I’m still in the MB Doesel game here in Houston . I just can’t pass up a good solid coupe , Two weeks ago I picked up one in Kerrville Texas , it was as hot as gets in August in this state , the hill country puts a test on any car as my two compadres and myself made our way out to the higher side of San Antonio , the objective was to look over a coupe and joining her was a sister car , a confirmed Clean bodied wagon with a lot still in the tank . The wagon I could not leave without , just a beauty sitting in the courtyard of the sellers estate ranch , it was as described as a his and hers car sell , Husband and wife’s car and you could see the care was in the pride of ownership . These are coming into the golden years , they are being looked at more closely as they should be , if a car collector hasn’t driven one they should , believe in the myth .
