603.961 valve stem seal part number/s
Can anyone validate that a 603.961 takes 12 of 103 050 0058? I got 12 of these seals from Fastlane but I'm concerned because the intake and exhaust valve stems are not the same diameter though the valve guides have about the same outer diameter.
Perhaps 103 050 0058 is the part number of the bagged set rather than the individual seals? They all look the same. Thanks, Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL |

Info
My info shows the bagged set as Seal, Valve Stem (Parts Kit) # 103 050 00 58, I don't have the seals separately listed.
Someone with actual experience will undoubtedly chime in but I remember some discussion that originally separate parts and part numbers and in fact actual dimensionally different parts identified by colors where specified, but that arrangement has been superceded by a single seal used interchangeably for both valve stems. Apparently the dimensional differences do not exceed the elasticity limits of the seal design and material. Good Luck! |

I just did a valve job on my "80" 240d and the part number on the seal bag is 616 050 0067. I screwed up a couple of seals till I got the hang of tapping them down over the guides all the way but not to hard and dont forget to use the little condom on the valve threads
