Ok to use Diesel Kleen for a Purge?

Is there really a difference, formula-wise, between "Diesel Purge" available through most of the mail order places and just using straight fuel additive like Diesel Kleen available right around the corner?
My car is running great, at least I think, because I don't have anything to compare it to, so I just want to clean the injectors for the first time. Also, any pics of the infamous banjo connector that I should be looking for an cleaning?
thanks!

Well, you could just give it a try. If the car doesn't run on the Diesel Kleen alone, just reconnect everything. It's a good question, because it would be alot easier to obtain the PS's Diesel Kleen than it is Diesel Purge. The only thing that I see that might be different about Diesel Purge is that is has some actual diesel in it. Where as Kleen is pure cleaner, meant to be mixed with diesel. I am only guessing here mind you.

I am betting it's not possible to get the thing to run on straight PS diesel kleen. It's got a cetane boost, but it's not real diesel like purge is. Just dump a lot of diesel kleen in the tank. It has made mine idle nicer.

Mix Power Service DieselKleen 50/50 with diesel the next time you change fuel filters. It's what we've gone to in road trucks instead of ATF (big fines for "red" off road fuel). I have been watching the tdiclub web site (for other reasons), and it also seems to be their method of choice. Can't vouch for it in a MB, as I still do it the old fashioned (ATF) way with daBenz.

To answer the question, I believe Diesel Purge is 65% diesel.

How to clean the banjo fitting

Shawnster
Check this out, it is not the same motor as your car, but the same principle applies. http://www.mindspring.com/~houlihan/merc/banjo.htm
