87 300SDL profiled in AutoWeek

The August 26th issue has a very nice "Escape Roads" profile of a 1987 300SDL titled "Merc diesel was at the top of the class." Article shows a nice two tone gray 87,000 mile car belonging to Stan Sokol.

It is lowered 3 inches ??? among other mods- is this a misprint?

Dual exhaust huh? Looks like the air intake has been modified too. Too bad he still has the trap oxidizer!

There was an error about the output of the 3.5 diesel engine... I beleive the horsepower and torque numbers that they had, reflected those of the 2.5 turbo motor.

Great article. Yeah, whats with the trap oxidizer, he knows this much about his car enough to modify it, but not enough to know there was a factoru recall?

I may have to goto Borders and pick up this magazine for the article, it is in print, right?
