Question Transmission kick down switch location

where can I find the transmissions kick down switch? I'm looking for the one on the transmission itself not the one behind the gas pedal.
My passing gear is not availible so I have to down shift to hit passing gear.
Also I have this wire that looks like it is supposed to go to the transmission but I can not locate a place to hook it up too.
If I leave the kickdown switch behind the gas pedal plugged in and I floor it, a fuse pops and kills my climate system so hot air is constantly blowing. does anyone know where this part is or what it looks like, possibly an easy way to get to it for repair or replacement?

thanks a mill,

Jeff

In the SD it's at the rear of the transmission above the crossmember. There's a single wire attached to it. Philips screw, if I remember correctly.

Great, is it possible to get to it without dropping the tranny?

You should be able to get to it, but it's been a while so maybe I'm thinking of another car. If you can't get to it with the crossmember in place, put a jack under the tranny and drop the crossmember. Put a pad between the jack and pan, if that's where you set the jack, so you don't dent or otherwise damage the pan.

FWIW, the switch at the far end of the pedal's swing usually goes first.
