240 D oil filter
is there any way to put an oil filter topside on my 74 240 D it is a true pain in the donkey to change filter also might give me room to get to bottom bolt on IP for timing............

You would need to machine an adapter to allow you to leave the oil cooler lines there and put the oil filter elsewhere. Doable, but worth the effort?
I know what you mean, the oil filter is a big pain in the butt on the W115. Helps to replace the engine mounts, though -- you can get the filter housing out much more easily! Peter

I agree the oil fliter is a SOB to change on the 240D. I found that putting a jack under the oil pan and raising the engine slightly made it easier to turn the filter can upside down so the 2 filters could be removed and replaced. P E H |
