87 300TD 124 windshield trim removal

Anyone have experience (know the procedure) removing the black trim on the sides and top of a 124 windshield? I'm looking for a leak. It leaks during hard driving in hard rain. The leak enters the car near the top of the "A" pillar - wetting the cloth molding. Right after I bought the car, I replaced the blower motor with a blower motor from an 87 parts car. And now that old blower is squealing, and I'm going to replace it with a new blower motor. The car's windshield was replaced by the PO. But the installer had globbed the glue. And it required razor trimming the glue globs and cleanly re-install of the lower trim around the mono-wiper. I suspect the glue job on the sides or top may be at fault for the leak. Or maybe a leak through a welded joint on the A pillar. And now would be a good time to address it. Anyway, any advice on trim removal?
