Thanks sincerely for all the good info!
I think I have decided for sure on the sdl. I'm 6-5 and like the idea of room. Have been reading and talking to local techs so on/ so forth.. about the differences in 3.0 vs 3.5 . price and availability may be the deciding factor. as a former diesel tech, working on one doesn't scare me, just don't want to have to work on it all the time! Driving is more fun. one other quertion.... how does the mercedes diesel do at altitudes crossing rockies from St. Louis to LA. anyone had the pleasure? Thanks again folks...have really enjoyed reading your info. have a safe day!

I live in Denver. I have a 300d non-turbo and a turbo. I'd swear the turbo one has a second engine hidden somewhere. The non-turbo will climb the mtns. but you learn to enjoy the scenery.
