Finally dawned on me...
I've been getting an irregular idle here and there when I put the car in park with no engine load (no AC, lights off, etc). It doesn't happen all the time, but it's often enough that it's troublesome to me. I know I'm a hypochondriac with this car... but the car also doesn't idle at 1000 RPM upon cold start up (this morning was 4C) anymore. This is the second fall/winter with this car for me, and last winter it did the fast idle then, and no irregular idle then. These two seem linked.
I know my idle is controlled by vacuum. Which a problem with the idle could mean a leak somewhere else, right? It's pretty hard to even see the unit since it's under the intake manifold. Should I just put up with this stuff and shut up? Or should I work to solve this 'problem?'
