Is the 123 trans. the same as the 126?

Quick question for gurus:

Is the W123 Transmission from a 300D interchangable with a transmission from a 300SD?

Thanks.

Alex

Nobody knows? Or is it such common knowledge that I shouldn't have asked?

I talked to my local junkyard owner, and was told "almost any good salvage yard can cross-reference this for you" they just need the numbers.

It depends on the year and length. My transmission shop told me that the most important thing in determining if the transmissions are interchangable is the number of bolts on the pan. I would have to agree with CHAPP, most wrecking yards can cross reference this for you.
