Please identify this part
I found this part on top of the injection pump. It reads 7.20841.00, Pierburg. I think it is a one way check valve, but it will not hold vacuum in any way.

I think that that piece is designed to hold vacuum potential. Simular to what a capacitor does with electric current.

Well, that would explain why this part would not hold a vacuum. The part is completely hollow inside as well.
Bob, By the way, what is it to drive the Toyota Corolla Diesel? I have put a Toyota 1C in a Willy's jeep, and it was a pretty neat engine to power my jeep with. |

If it's right on top of the ALDA area of the injection pump it is just what The Bob said. Officially called a "dashpot" by MB on the parts list, others call it a vacuum dampener.
