2.7 CDI Diesel in Sprinter Van
I am trying to get info on this engine...I am a S/E delivery service operating Ford cargo van with PSD engine 206K on clock so far...I have searched trying to find out how the 2.7 CDI engine will hold up to interstate speeds and if this engine will indeed last 400-500K that I plan on....there is little difference in price between the sprinter and the Ford Cargo Van with PSD but I would like to have the extra cargo space the sprinter allows ...CAN ANYONE advise site or links or info on this engine.....BTW I have found one person that operates this van over-the-road and he has 100K now with normal maintance and and EGR valve replaced under warranty...FEDEX claims a high failure of EGR valves AWA brakes....anyone have info please share...thanks from new member...bd

I think they also put this engine in the M-class and sell it in Australia as the ML270. You might do some Aussie searches.

Also look at historical refs to 2.5 CDI in the Vito van
When compared to the Ford the MB 2.5 CDI should well exceed your expectations (personal opinion).
They have sold Vitos with the same engine as well. Go Yahoo UK etc for info. http://www.vankempen-autosport.nl/engine/tuningbox.htm An interesting place for performance enhancements! Note do look at the aux heater if you are in cold climes it will come in handy and prevent the need to idle the engine for long periods. I am hoping it can be used to prewarm the engine as well but have not checked into that yet. |
