What's your idle speed? If it is too low, you will have low oil pressure.

Doesn't take that much pressure to oil the engine, though -- my Volvo only produces 28 psi at 2400 rpm (no guage, that's factory spec) and the routinely run 300,000 miles with no wear on the bearings.....

If the pressure is 11 psi , you are fine. Minimum spec is 8, and if you put new bearings in it, the only thing that could be bad is the wrist pin bushings! You'd know that, you'd hear the piston slap.

The only other thing could be the oil filter -- if you have the single bolt type (early W123 chassis), ramming the bolt down will separate the seal between the two parts of the filter and cause low oil pressure. Insert with minimal pressure, and oil it first.

Unless the oil pump is shot, turbos always have at least 1 bar (or 1.5, I don't remember) -- this is the opening pressure for the oil jets.
