Auxiliary Water Pump Questions

Hey all,

I am back asking a few questions about my aux. water pump. My heat in my car fades in and out about every ten minutes. Whenever I turn my key on in the morning i can hear the pump kick in but it only runs about 30 seconds then quits and wont' come back on till about ten minutes later. It gets power the whole time during DEF, and BI-LEVEL modes but it just quits. The noise comeing from it is really noticeable. I have tried to hot wire it but i get the same results it will only kick on after about ten min after first cycle.

-- Will the pump from fastlane fit my car, i noticed only two hose ports, my pump has like three lines going to it.
--Could it be something else besides the water pump. I heard that I was supposed to have some heat regardless if i was going down the highway, but I don't.

Any help will be appreciated, it is going to be like 15 tomorrow morning. Please help.

Ty

there's a combination of things that tell the water pump to run... I believe on your car there is also a sensor that turns off the pump or doesn't turn it on until the water reaches a certain temp so that it doesn't just blow cold air.

If you can't hot wire the pump and make it run then you are looking at replacing it. I do not know if the one from Fastlane will fit but you can call teh 800 number and Phil will help you out finding the right one for your car.
I had heard that if the pump stops working it can cause problems with the other electrical items in the heat circuit so I'd suggest you find the problem before running it too much. As to heat when you are driving I thought that the car would be anble to produce enough flow without the pump but I could be wrong. Might be other sensors are staring to go also and that is why you can't get heat when running down the road.
Unfortunately I am facing many of the same issues as my servo has stopped funtioning. it will not open the water valve to let water to the heater core...

Good luck and I hope all this helps in some way.

Does your car have monovalve. If so check that. Sounds like it needs rebuilt. Also does your engine reach 80C after normal warm up? if not it could be the stuck open thermostat( Which I have now in mine)

Read about water recirculating pump posted by me in past do a search under MVK. Lots of info there.

ALso

Also put in an inline fuse. This way if the pump shorts or draws excessive amps, it will nor ruin the ACC control panel. That too has been posted by me in past.

I think you are having problems with your A/C Servo. You will probally need to replace it, or give it a "workout".

I have done some research on my present problem and which has led to more problems. First on the climate issue I believe that it is a combo of both pump, servo and amp. Which if that is the case then I am just up a creek without a paddle.

However - I took my car in to the shop today and was going to have my tires balanced and aligned. Well they balanced them but they could not align them because something in the front end was loose. They took me back there and showed me the problem. THey had a guy hold one tire and a guy shake the other tire and it wiggled a lot. I told them i would bring it back for them to look at (time was running out) and left. Could this be a tire rod or something, i have no knowledge of front ends.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ty
