bumper front molding

I purchase new front bumper rubber molding, it keeps coming loose. I thought screwing it on from back. How do they keep these things on. This is on a 85 300d. Thanks Ed

When I had to reinstall the front molding (broken retainers) I ended up using a rubber mallet. I centered the molding on the retainer and then wacked the center of the molding to spread the backside channel over the retainer. Don't know if this was the right way but it worked for me.

I am sure that someone else will have a more correct way to install the molding. Good luck, Wayne

Moraine
It is the hard plastic piece with the hooks on it. The piece that attaches to the metal bumper. Thanks Ed
