Question What Year And Model Do I Get The Five Speed From?

I would like to start looking for a five speed to convert a 240D. What year and models do we have to choose from? Do I need the shift linkage also? I am working on a 85 201 body 190D 2.2 diesel. It has a five speed in it. Is that compatable with the 123 body? With 260,000 on the speedo, this trans shifts like new and for that matter, the little 4 banger runs well also. The car is a beater and I want to ask the people about buying it if they ever sell it if this trans will fit my needs.
