Thumbs up Cool Pic

I thought that this was a cool MB pic!

I caught it going down the freeway here in Dallas.

Maybe someone can post the pic in a message for me.

Robert

Here's the pic.

Freightliner is owned by Daimler-Benz, thus the badge. I am not a trucker, nor am I in the trucking industry. I just travel a lot and look out the window a lot. If I were to become a trucker, I would want either a Freightliner, or a new Volvo. The new Volvos look pretty cool.

Actually, more to the point, a lot of new Freightliners are powered by a new truck diesel that Daimler-Benz introduced a couple of years back. I think they designed this engine before buying Detroit Diesel, hence it's an MB engine.

I don't remember the specs on the engine, but I think it's comparable to an 8.3l C-series Cummins or a 3126 Cat...I could be wrong, though; it may be bigger...

United Parcel Service Freightliner Vans

Freightliner is owned by Daimler-Chrysler? Doh!

Hmmmm...I guess that explains why those new Freightliner UPS delivery vans looked so doggone European. And now after a closer look at them, I realize that they are MBZ Sprinters.

Actually, they are going to start selling them as Dodges as well. It's too bad, they would look nice with a big star in the grill...

Arrgh! Dodge?

IF so, they'll have to install really crappy electrical systems in those Sprinters in order to maintain the true Dodge image.

*torch torch*

IMHO the best looking big trucks are the mid '90's Freightliners and the Ford Aeromax trucks...the '80's IH cabovers weren't bad either. The old Peterbilts are quite nice, as well...

Look at it this way. This could be the start of Dodge actually selling worthwhile vehicles

Autocar

Autocar has to have the coolest, menacing looking trucks with the massive hood and the small cab. I love those trucks!

speakin' of trucks... I really like the Renault trucks I have seen in Europe. Anyone know anything about them? I think they're the same trucks that were used in the movie "Transporter"(a horrible movie:p )

They are Garbage trucks. And from my quick search it looks like Volvo is involved now. Bought them out maybe?
