Electrical problems in '82 300D

Well this car is getting near it's useby date , I think .
After changing the driveshaft front coupling and the rear g/box mount , and solving the no oil pressure problem ( grit unger the pump relief valve) . I am studiously ignoring the no central locking issue .
BUT , my wife is concerned that yesterday , the fuel gauge and the temp gauge and the indicators all failed .
The hazzard warning device works , all the corner lights flash ok.
The other functions on the ind. stork work , ie , headlight flashers , wipers and washers ok.
So I pulled the dash set out and discovered that there is a printed circuit board there . All connections that I can see look ok ,, I dont have any electrical skills to speak of ,, and am wondering if someone can walk me thru this .
Indicators are really whats required ,, I could leave the rest as we are thinking the car will be scrap soon , perhaps by the end of the year , a shame really as it has performed so well until just this yr.
What to replace it with is a whole other issue ..
So ........ how about these silly electrical failures .... ?? ....... can some one help me here please.

Dusty,

Have you checked the fuse?. It may not be burned out, just the ends corroded and not making contact.

Thanks for the suggestion P E H , I did look at the fuses but didn't notice the corrosion. On one of the fuses , I broke the fillament when I was cleaning it , so with that replaced I now have fuel and temp guages working
Still looking for the indicators though .................

I dunno about this electrical stuff ........ off I go to get a new packet of fuses from the shop , Ifigure that where one is corroded and fragile then the others will be to .
So as I pull onto the onramp , habit makes me indicate ....... yep ..... the indicators decided to work again .. ! ?? ! ......
OK , so I am not going looking for trouble ,, but it sure is weird .
Darn electrons ..............
