loss of power

It happend to me twice this week and it scared me. When I accellrate it like not pressing the pedal at all it just seems to idle. It then it finaly goes slowly up to speed I try to down shift the automatic transmision but it dosn't help. And after that it seems fine I don't know if the transmision is not down shifting when I stop or some other problem. 240D automatic

me too (sometimes)

conanh...I get this too on occasion and doesn't seem normal. It usually affects me the most in the mornings when the engine isn't quite warmed up and I have a slight incline out my driveway. I posted about a month ago on this problem and members had me try adjusting the cable off the linkage to the tranny. My car feels like it isn't dropping into first gear when it should and is lugging and seems to not rev up rpms.

My next theory is that maybe I am not building up enough vacuum for the tranny to shift properly (if it's vacuum controlled) and the little extra time I allow it to warm up builds that vacuum for me. It's very frustrating and something I'd like to correct before I try to sell this thing.

So, I am interested in opinions on this subject also.

Could it be a fuel filter issue? Whens the last time they were changed?

Stevo, in my case the filters have been changed out with no effect along with the replacing of several reaches of the fuel line (to rule out pinholes allowing air to enter).

Thanks
