My 300D has 241K miles, and I've driven it for about 18K of those, I think.
My F-250 (6.9l Navistar diesel) has 214K miles, and I've driven it for 15K of those. :) I know, both of them are babies... ;) |
You can see my miles below. We've put about 105k on them since we purchased them. Four daily drivers going to five by June 2004.

Can't help bragging a bit
I'm new to the diesel realm (just bought '95 E300D with 140K) but you don't have to have a diesel to get high miles. I just retired my '89 Mazda 626 turbo, first new car I ever bought. It had just over 300,000 miles. Original turbo, never opened the engine. Timing belt every 60K, plugs about every 50 - 75K, oil change every 3K with dino. Still running fine when retired, the electrical gremlins were getting to me.
Just goes to show that a well maintained car, gas or diesel, will do the miles. 'Course it's gotta be decently engineered and manufactured in the first place too! Rgds, Chris W. |
I just rolled over 200k on my daily driver, my 1980 300SD.
My wifes daily, an '82 300D has 335k on it, and my other SD, an '83 has about 240k on it. My son is driving my '80 300D with over 320k. We all laugh at what most people consider high mileage. I wouldnt hesitate to drive any one of my cars coast-to-coast right now. Robert |
this is a mix...
the 91 Sentra SE-R - 151K and does track time a couple times a year - owned since new
the '01 CLK55 is the garage queen - no rain! - 6,800 miles - bought Jan 01... it's about $200 every time I open the garage door ;) the 84 300SD was my mothers - she put 180K - I've added just 1K and a friggin' lot of money into it! oh well - the diesel stuff is some pretty sick fun! :D |
