Gasket for Injection Pump

I have a diesel injection pump on my 85 300sd that is leaking oil. The pump is fine condition other than the leak. The shop I use cannot find a gasket for the pump. If I can't find a gasket then I have to replace the entire pump. The gasket is inside the pump but on the end that can be taken off without special tools, getting too deep in the pump. See photo, I have circled the end in red. Just inside their is a gasket, this needs to be replaced. The bosch part number for the pump is: 0403245014

I need to replace my gasket too, though mine is on the joining part with the block so I have to take off the IP to replace it.

It has got so bad it LEAKS 1q of oil *every day* onto the ground

Couple options here. You can purchase some gasket material from an industrial supply house and cut your own or you can find a Bosch authorized distributor and should be able to pick a new gastket up from them. I'm sure they will need to know the number/information off of the side of the pump to get the right gasket.

Gilbertb1,

Have you tried a Diesel injection shop that rebuilds Bosch injector pumps? They should be able to get the gasket for you.

Engatwork,

Bosch Authorised Distributor= Diesel Injection Shop

Not always true. There is a Bosch Authorized Distributor near me and they only sell/service Bosch electrical components.

Thanks PEH - I stand corrected.
My local Bosch rep is actually Lew's Turbo Diesel service center. He can get the electrical parts too. It is on my way home from work and I get my Stanedyne there.

All the gaskets are available in the EPC,

So any Mercedes dealership can order the gaskets. Bosch service centers too. I believe there is a master service kit with all the orings, gaskets, front seal and a bunch of stuff which runs about $40-60.
