I was looking for pictures of engine parts etc. You know... more technical details to learn from.

Turbodiesel:

The engine is not that bad. Have myself an E-Class with automatic transmission.
Mine has about 255.000 km on the counter without any big repairs on the engine. I did have some problems with the car:

- AC failure
- Exhaust leakage, front & back part
- Vibration at speeds around 80-100 km/h (front stabilisation rubbers)
- Outside temp. sensor failure
- Turbo not engaging (waste gate,pneumatic problem)
- Defective instrument lamps (expensive repair at MB dealer)
- Alarm sirene defect

So these are not directly related to the engine.
Last I found some coolant leaking out of the head gasket at the back of the engine. I had to refill every 3-4 months. The coolant is clean, Oil has no signs of water (yet), so I will not do anything about this now.

But the engine is noisy compared to other MB diesel engines.
It became better after 2 bottles of Wynns injector cleaner, but is still not like a Mercedes should be.
My 190D 2.0 was far more quite and: 17Km for 1 liter of diesel.

The 290 does maximum 15Km on the highway.
City drive: 10-12 Km.

So, I'm happy with it.
