Merc Newbie Needs Help!
Hiya guys.
Just jumped into the world of this classic beast. You can see what i got in my signature below. I havent a clue about this car. Just got a Haynes Manual for it. It came with no actual manual for the car. so there is all switches not working and i dont know even what they do. 1. button looks like a seat with an arrow. Pressing does nothing. 2. button on other end of center console. looks like a light. again nothing. other then that i can fix the other stuff. Im quite aware on how 1st gear does not have much take off in it. but im wanting to know what would a guy need to do to the engine in order to get some kick out the 3.0L engine. Stuff like what Air filter and stuff like that. any helpl would be great. and be gentle with me! thanks Liam

I'm not familiar with your model but 1 sounds like it might be a sunroof possibly.... if you have one. 2 might be a rear dome light. I would look on ebay to find a manual for your car.

Liverpooluk,
About the only way you can get a "kick" out of low gear would to replace the engine with a V8. The way your car is is a characteristic of the 3L Diesel engine and can't be changed without an engine transplant. P E H |

Number 1 button sounds like the release for the rear headrests. You have to raise them manually, but the button should lower them.
