I always worried about ATF turning my fuel red, and in turn that getting me in trouble with the farm-diesel checks. Of course, I think being checked for farm diesel is probably more of a worry in my pickup than in my Mercedes.

Kerry beat me to the punch. Cooking oil will do just fine as well.

So to my total amazement Crisco came to the rescue. I filled the fuel filter with Crisco oil and screwed it back in, cranked for about a minute and she started right up. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING.
After about 3 minutes of heavy smoking it started running clean and runs well now. I did notice some bubbles in a fuel line that seems to be a return line from the fuel pump - not sure how I'd find out. Maybe I can snap a pic and some of you can tell. I don't think bubbles are good in the system ANYWHERE. Thanks for everyone's help so far. You guys are awesome!!! Mike. ![]() |

Another satisfied customer.
Yes, the bubbles aren't good. Snap a pic and post it in a new thread to get maximum attention. There are a few techs around here who should be able to spot the problem right off.
