dashboard warning lights

I have a warning light glowing on my 240D. I am not sure of its function. It is between the battery light and the brake light. It is a circle with three dashes around each side of it six dashes total. I thought it was a low brake fluid light, but flushing the brakes and filling the reservoir didn't turn it off(yes, both front and back parts of res. are full). Pushing on the test buttons on top of the reservoir causes no change. Alternator at idle puts out 14.5 volts. Any other ideas? Thanks

That light is to tell you the brake pads are worn out.
