Do these two things have something in common?
I was driving over to the coast last weekend and had the air on and was running good.On the way back, turned the air on and noticed it was not as cold.Switched it over (for the first time in a long time because this car gets too damn cold) to the duel arrow setting and it felt like it was blowing warm air.Later on that night, drive the car with the lights on and noticed the upper part of my console (where the sunroof and defroster switches are) was not lighting up.I changed the fuses and I noticed that the compressor is not on.Changed fuses, still no lights or air.How serious is this and what needs to be done to correct this.Thank you

i had this same problem on my 85 300d, check your klima relay, the 85 300d was the first year for this change, the klima relay is on the left inside fender, just in front of the fuse box, under a black plastic cover, pull it out and see if any lands are burnt off the circuit board. these things are expensive, around $200, if yours is bad, i have a extra brand new one ill sell . email me if you want it.
