Your car requires vacuum to shut of the engine. When you turn the key off, the switch ports vacuum to the diaphgram at the back of the inj pump. This shuts the fuel off to the pump. You can have a leaky door lock diaphgram and it will bleed enough vacuum off to keep you from shutting down. At the firewall you have a bunch of vacuum lines that run into the car. Un plug the Yellow line, plug the rubber fitting that you removed the line from and try to shut down the car. You can also have a weak vacuum pump. How does your power vbrakes work??? If good, then the vac. pump is good. Ck ALL of the vac. connections under the hood. GOOD LUCK!!!
