time delayed accelerator response?
Ok,
this is a different phenomenon from that which one might experience when first driving a diesel.... When cold, the 85 300D experiences (just recently) a delay between the application of the accelerator and the response of the revving I expect. Much like a european symphony orchestra responds to a conductor, the revving seems to 'remember' what I've done, and follow it exactly a little bit after I've asked for it with the pedal. Loose linkage? Why would this get better with warmth? Fuel filters almost new, and clear prefilter looks fine- very little air and no leaks. Again, this seems to not be a problem when warm- is it fuel flow related? Thanks!! Kevin

Are you talking about a short lag before the turbo spools up??

I don't think so. It's different than what I am used to with that. This more take the form of having no response with pedal application and then slowly catching on that I've asked for the fuel.
I've been driving the sdl so much maybe I'm just spoiled. ![]() k
