What is micron rating of fuel filters?
Does anyone know what the micron rating is on the small plastic inline filter and the rating on the metal spin on as used on a 1983 300 SD? I currently have that drivetrain in the 1973 International pictured (hopefully) Thanks Mike

Metal spin on is probably 1 micron -- this is pretty standard for diesel engines newer than 1970 or so.
The small filter is just a screen to catch the big stuff. It can go anywhere before the lift pump. Peter

It seems like the inline plastic filter is about 50 microns.
