With that , er, uh, vehicle, I would finally hear:

"Hey dad, can I borrow the ......

.....nevermind."

Actually, this is confirmation that a yet un-discovered disease afflicts some members of our society. I call it MMTBS, short for More Money Than Brains Syndrome. Symptoms include the overwhelming desire to throw lots of money at bad ideas.

Just be glad this guy doesn't live next door.

All I can say is WHY? oh WHY? Why mess up a beautiful 300TD and turn it into what I think is junk. The creator of that should be judged by a panel from MBCA and this website and commited to a mental institution for his actions!

Unhappy

The server I'm accessing this forum from today does not allow us to access eBay. Too much bandwidth and I suppose too many people would blow lots and lots of time on it. (Unlike other sites like shop forum. )

BUT, after reading everyone's posts (and trying to surpress several cackles), I get the feeling that not only is it NOT necessary that I see this obscure object of desire, but it is INDEED better that I don't.

Yours,

sohj, ignorance is bliss department.

I DO love the "Engrish" in the auction write-up though. Here's my favorite:

Yes, according to the ad, it has front and rear steering, the rear turns opposite to the direction the front is steered, like a bus. The center axle must be the only drive axle. May make for an interesting time if there is a big dip in the road and you're driving slowly.

Sohj:

Description:
This tremendously looking limousine has three axles; one fixed on the middle and steerables on both ends! When you turn the wheel, the front turns and the back turns to the opposite direction! So basically back wheels follows the front on contrary. This limousine is made out of two -83 Mercedes Station Wagons which are built together. Also to make this limousine look unique, it's front is from -62 Chrysler Imperial! Why? Read what one newspaper wrote about it:

"When auto giants Chrysler and Mercedes Benz merged several years ago, the owner for some reason - even he doesn't know why - decided to mark the transatlantic business deal by merging a 1962 Chrysler Imperial and two 1983 Mercedes 300 Turbos..." (Palm Beach Post)
This limousine has blue vinyl interior, genuine oak-wood cocktail bar, two separate A/C's and seats for ten people or if you are just two of you, this limo can be turned to RV. It means stove, microwave, refrigerator, radio/cassette player, TV and a bed for two. There are also large storage box and picnic lights on the roof.

To spice things up about twenty different car models and makes are included in this limousine plus lot of chrome parts and 18 mirrors helping you on tight maneuvers. Cadillac Continental Kit on back of the vehicle is empty, because all three spare tires are stored on the roof. There are step boards on both sides and electric fan makes flags of three different countries to wave for followers on little box on rear of the vehicle.

This vehicle is powered by Mercedes 5 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine. Average fuel consumption is about 25 miles/gallon. Electric system includes 2 alternators, 3 batteries plus 1000W inverter and is powerful enough to light up the total of 40 different lights on outside of this vehicle. An air suspension takes care of smooth rides. Instrument panel is changed during the modification process to similar but working unit and therefore miles are unknown. After the modification, this vehicle has traveled twice around North America and has proofed to work well. Unlike many old cars, this vehicle eats no oil and it is okay to take 5000-mile trip without adding oil.

There were some of the reasons why this vehicle has already been 5 times on TV and about 20 times in newspapers and in magazines!

If you would like to became famous, this is your change!
Anywhere this vehicle goes, people wants know more about it and even forces to stop to be able to see more. On the other hand, it took well over 2000 hours to bring this vehicle together and to make it legal.

Have you looked closely at all the pictures?
it has a small wing on the roof with a faux small jet engine.
It also has mirrors all round panoramic vew from ground to rear on both sides. This should be in book somwhere.

It wouldn't look that bad if, well, uh..., it had one less td attached and a normal front end on it.
