Hi folks -- my '84 300TD has a very rusty rear hatch. If anyone knows of one with just surface rust (or better), please drop me a note! I have glass, wiper, lock, etc..., so don't need any of that. Just the metal.

I would not mind getting some pricing info as well. From what I have been told, the past owner would haul wood and one day the hatch fell shut just as he was tossing a log in. That must have been one big@ss log to make a dent like that, break the bumper mount clean off the frame, bust the reverse light housing and rip the trim off

Anyway, I have been holding off on it for a long time now. I don't want to afford it, but it makes my baby look like a cheap pile of cr@p.

82-300td: that's a good looking hatch compared to mine! If you find a better one, I'll take that one off your hands if it's rust free. I can bang out the dents.

If I find any, I'll let you know. I saw some online for $350-ish used, $695 or so new. It was at adsitco.com.

If i found one in a scrap yard, I would snap it before I even see it. The local pick-a-part has things like IP $20, Turbo $25, vacuum pump $5, and clean nondiscolored injection lines $1.50! Too bad they don't have any diesels of any kind
