But glowplugs don't usually fail all at once, do they?

The coldest I've started one of my diesels was about 18F.
and I think I needed to cycle the glowplugs 2 or 3 times.
I can't remember if it's ever been as low as -10F around here. It did get down to 5F here last weekend. Fortunately, my 240Ds aren't my sole means of transportation and I use them mostly for local driving. If it's well below freezing and I need to get somewhere there's no point in stressing the diesel's batteries and vintage starters. I take the Nissan.

BOSH or BERU.
In an emergency, any brand, but plan to replace other brands within a few months.
