Sticking Accelerator
Our converted 300DT w/ 4 speed manual has developed a sticking accelerator situation.
When you remove all the linkage and trace it, it comes to the passenger side of the IP where there is a little lever. I've worked it and worked it and lubed it, etc but cannot overcome the sticking problem. I therefore assume that its internal. Any ideas on how to fix this? The pedal wants to run away from you when shifting. Thanks Don |
Any chance you replaced the vacuum shut off valve on the IP lately? Or, do you notice a spring on that lever? How about the springs on the firewall, are they connected to the linkage?

I'll check both springs. I think there is one on the lever. My take is that I don't want a harder pedal. Its already on the stiff side.
I tried earlier to apply a spring in a new location but it made the pedal very difficult to work with. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look. Don |
