Sticking Accelerator
Our converted 300DT w/ 4 speed manual has developed a sticking accelerator situation.
When you remove all the linkage and trace it, it comes to the passenger side of the IP where there is a little lever. I've worked it and worked it and lubed it, etc but cannot overcome the sticking problem. I therefore assume that its internal. Any ideas on how to fix this? The pedal wants to run away from you when shifting. Thanks Don

Any chance you replaced the vacuum shut off valve on the IP lately? Or, do you notice a spring on that lever? How about the springs on the firewall, are they connected to the linkage?

I'll check both springs. I think there is one on the lever. My take is that I don't want a harder pedal. Its already on the stiff side.
I tried earlier to apply a spring in a new location but it made the pedal very difficult to work with. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look. Don
