85 300D What do the two sensors on the A/C drier do?
Its that time--A.C. rebuild time.
I replaced the drier/receiver. When I did so, I overtightened one of the sensors that screws in to the Receiver/Drier (the one with the 4mm thread) and snapped it off. This sensor has two black wires that connect to it and it mounts to the side of the top of the Receiver drier. (The other sensor has wider thread) What does this sensor do? Can I still run my system with out it attached, or should I replace it? |

That sensor turns the electric cooling fan on when the pressure gets high in the a/c system. I don't remember the setting it activates the fan at. I would recommend replacing it. You can replace it without discharging the system.
