Yes,another oil pressure question.

Hi everyone.

I tried to do a search on this subject but didn't
come up with an answer.

Can a faulty oil pressure relief valve cause a
blow-by condition due to higher pressure
in the engine?

I would think so but I'm not sure.
Any advise is welcome.

The oil pressure gauge stays pegged all the time,
even after driving from my house to my job, 20 mls
away.

Since most likely the oil pressure relief valve
is shot,I'll have to replace it.
How difficult of a job is it?
Does the whole pump have to come out or
is it easily accessible?

It is a 84 300td stationwagen with 265k.
Bottom end was done about 150k ago and the
head was done 90k ago.

Manny thanks.

Louis.
