W123 A/C Spacers
So who was the bright spark in MB who decided to use 3 different size mounting bolt spacers for the A/C compressor?
Wouldn't it have been possible to cast the mounting bracket so that the same size washer could be used in all 3 locations?? I spent a couple of hours trying to get the A/C install right, during the heart transplant (Josephine - Fatmobile). My Haynes manual said (on the A/C removal and reinstallation) something like remove the bolts, and for reinstall "Installation is the reverse procedure" Hmm, didn't they know that there are 3 spacers, the thinnest on the adjuster, the next thickest at the top bolt, nearer the head, and the thickest at the bottom bolt. BTW, to avoid regassing, I left the A/C compressors in the cars while swapping the motors.
