Yes I am hooked I bought a package deal 2 for $250. I drove the 1978 300sd home about 39 miles through the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is the quickest turbo diesel I have ever driven. It has a 120 MPH speedometer the only thing I can think is the gearing is different, that it was made before the go slow craze struck. The disaster struck when I over heated on a long up grade with no place to pull over. Turns out the fan was bad so we took the grill off hot wired the AC fan on high. Well after overheating it sprung a large transmission leak so I had to stop every ten minutes to add fluid. The second one a 1979 I believe has a real good interior that’s why I bought it the owner said it through a rod. Well while he was in the house I saw the keys in it so I fired it up through a rod yeah it’s either the loudest injector or a bent valve. I am going up there after I get my tranny in my 85 euro 300d hopefully it will be all dun Tuesday. If I can drive this one home that would be great. I am beat that’s all for now if you need any SD parts I have lots of spares now of course I have real un happy neighbors, But how many own all 3 years of the 116 turbo diesels
