Gas stations playing catnmouse

God damn it! Our local Tv stations has a "gas patrol". So I switch to the channel to find out that the gas is 79.9C/L or 89.9C/L for premium!! Whoa thats a good pirce as I paid a buck for a liter few days ago. I hop in the car and drive to the gas station to see the gas price to be 82.9C/L. Now I know its not a significant differnce but its the damn games that the gas stations play!! I was just so mad!!!

Anyways I am looking foreward to putting the E300D on the road once we sell the C230!!!

On the other hand it will be my dads ride and my mom and I will be stuck driving a gas sucking 02 Buick Century with a 3.3L V6. At least it runs on regular. I dont know why I dont really like that car, its really comfortable but also too soft. Well I guess thats why its a "Buick" . But even under the hood, that V6 is stuffed in there, I will be having a hard time accessing the spark plugs by the fire wall!! We got the buick from our aunt so its kinda not nice to sell it due to my aunt, but Im telling my parents to wait like a year and get a VW TDI or another E300D!!!

Meh, i just wanted to vent a lilttle bit about the gas prices

If that Buick's anything like my mom's old '94 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.1l), you have to undo two engine mounts and use a crowbar to pull the engine towards the front of the car slightly to get to the spark plugs in the back. The procedure to do this was actually detailed in the Chiltons manual for the car, and was described as the only way to get to the rear plugs.

The day I did the plugs on that car, I swore that I would never work on a FWD car again...so far, so good

Yes yes, its a FWD buick, it would have been so much nicer if it was a RWD, but what can i do

When you guys mean the 2 engine mounts, do you mean the 2 front mounts that are on the top right above the radiator?

If thats the case than thats the right way to do it like you guys say. In my auto class, we got a 95 Regal with a same designed engine except it is a 3.8 V6. In order to get the rear plugs we had to use a bar and push the engine foreward, honestly what a grimy way to do it! Ohh yea, let me tell you guys why the car is donated to the school. One of my classmates is a really bright guy. One day as he says he noticed the overheating light on the instruments. He thought it is a electrical gremlin and ingnored it for like 2-3 days!! All of this time his car was overheating. He then, after few days goes to Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire) and the techs reveal that either he blew the head gaskets or even cracked the heads! Ohh let me add that in the past he did not change the oil because the hood latch was broken!!! ?? What an idiot. Anyways, his parents are well of so they just donated the car to the school, man if they signed the ownership to me I'd sell the car for at least a grand! It was still a car worth fixing. Well thats what I though! One day the teacher, really nice guys tells me to get in the car and steer cause we had to push it out of the shop. I get in that thing and all I smell is weed!!! I ask the dumb kid whose parents donated the car, how many times has he smoked in there, hes like (with this dumb look) "d'ohhh 20 times in the past month" I am like holly crap,( I dont want to offend anyone but,) what a waste of life he is!!

So now you see the types of people that take tech class, go there and sleep while I work on car and learn stuff!!

Yep! And there's a second ey eon one of them so that you can lock the engine forward.

What a Mickey-Mouse way allow routine maintenance to be done on an engine. I actually did the alternator on my mom's car shortly before she sold it...also a major PITA.

I tried to get my mom to get a 123 to replace the Ponticrap, but she got a Honda instead...I flat-out told her that I refuse to touch the engine compartment on that thing...I will not work on a FWD car again.

That's actually been my philosophy since I was 18. I almost caved in when I was 19 and my Scout cracked a piston...had the opportunity to get a '79 F-250 for free if I could fix the engine. I wound up not being able to, and got my old van (for $3000) instead. Given the fuel mileage that that 351-powered truck wouldn't have gotten, that was probably the smart thing to do in the long run...
