Glow plug indicator light staying on!

After starting the car, the glow plug indicator light has stayed on for about a minute or so 2 times in the past 3 days. I always let it warm up before starting, and never drive it when its cold- every morning I let it warm up for at least 5 minutes and then drive.

Why would the glow plug indicator light stay on after the car is started???

When mine did that, it was the glow plug relay.

Is it an urgent fix if thats the case? I would assume it will only happen more frequently, prompting a prudent repair of the relay.. but will it damage anything until then?

Does it stay on steady, or blink?

Yes,damage can occure if the glow plugs stay on
to long.
The tips can break off and end up in your engine.

ahhhhh! ok so the light doesnt flicker, just stays on, probabaly for a minute or so. then it goes out. its only done it 2 out of 10 starts. So the relays need to be replaced.. is that an expensive fix? im not a diy when it comes to troubleshooting weird things, or fixing them.

Those things are really inexpensive at Pick n Pull. Like $10, if you can find the right one. I have a spare, post the part #.
