My favorite pick-n-pull managers special

Engines (all) only $79.99!
Batteries only $9.99!
Switch Ignition only $4.99!
Horn only $1.99!
In San Jose that means intake exhaust manifold turbo IP injectors glow plugs and harness AC pump IP air cleaner vacuum pump fan water pump belts hoses if you can keep it bolted to the block or head they usually let you take it.

I just scored a cherry tach/clock gauge out of a wrecked '82 300TD at my local pick-n-pull for just $2.30 during the half-off weekend sale. Nice upgrade for my '81 for pocket change. Pick-n-Pull is like crack! :p

WannaWagon,

What pick n' pulls are around us that might have some 126 chassis? I thought our California court/regulatory system had chased most self serves away. Thanks.

Check this site. They have yards in L.A., Orange and Ventura counties:

They have another half-off weekend coming June 18!

No doubt the regs have gotten tougher on junkyards, and for good reason. But one of the nice things about this outfit, in my experience, is that they run a very tight ship. Their yards are quite clean, the vehicles are easy and safe to access, and they clean up after themselves pretty well.

Hmmm. You ever been in a Home Depot? I wonder why they don't hafta do the same thing. They've got tons and tons of stuff 30 feet up in the air on steel racks just waiting to slide off and kill people in the next earthquake. Everytime I go into one of those I wonder about that. And in my experience, there are generally a lot more people hanging out at the average Home Depot than in any junkyard.

BTW, there is a large pick-a-part type junkyard in Windsor, north of Santa Rosa, in the North Bay, that I used to frequent when I lived up there a couple years ago. It was a pretty good operation and always worth the trip.

Feel like picking and pulling an intact 617 for me and shipping it cross country?
Out here in North Florida I'm lucky to find a 123 chassis much less a MB in a yard.
