Anyone have a spare set of 300D intake/exhaust manifolds?

I'm looking to convert my '85 300D CA emissions model to a fed version and I wondering if anyone has a spare set of the manifolds along with the turbo, exhaust outlet and air cleaner. I haven't been able to find a set in any of the local wrecking yards and I've tried checking the web for them and the prices I was quoted were prohibitively expensive, not including any shipping.
I'd like to pick up a few extra HP and have a little more room under the hood and be rid of the expensive air filter.
Or should I just forget it?

Lietuviai, I might be able to help make that happen. How much were you looking to spend, with shipping? steve 83sd

Do it! It is so worth it........you knew I was going to chime in, didn't you?
Make sure you get the turbo also. It may look like it lines up but the oil drain ports are not the same. Unless you can rig something with the tube.

Yeah I thought I'd hear from you. You were the one who gave me the idea that it was an easy swap.
I wish I could use my "old" turbo since it only has 50K miles on it. It was a free replacement when the dealer did the warranty work on the trap.

You can use the same turbo, just get the down-tube that bolts to the turbo for the fed model and you're in business. All you have to do is loosen the bolts on the intake turbine side to rotate the tube to the intake manifold. The turbo cartridge is the identical thing, I confirmed this from 2 vendors.
Good luck, I did this swap and get a consistant 3 more MPG out of it since.

I've got a couple of members who have offered me the set-ups, I'll get the turbo to be on the safe side and then I could always sell it later or keep it around as a spare, or...fab a set up to have dual turbos, one to spool up early and the second to kick in later. I better stop dreaming, but then where would this country be w/o dreamers.

i could not get my drain tube to line up by just rotating the housing. The drain is from the center of the housing at a different angle.

Turbocharge in series for mega-boost! You might want to think about an intercooler and some other items first though... hehehe.

vwbuge,
Hello, I was curious if you did in fact try to use the fed model drain tube or did you try to use the one from the CA model?
I guess I lucked out on mine fitting.

Congrats on getting it all to work in the end, it sure was worth the extra effort, no doubt!
Good luck, Adam

I had parts from both vehicles. I just tried to mix and match. I tried to rotate the housing but struggled for a while. In the end I went with what I knew would work.
