Before and after pics....
I found a pic of my car when I first bought it. I was driving from the Pocono Mtns of PA to a place near Philly to work everyday. In the first 9 months I owned the car I put on 30,000 some odd miles!

hey looks pretty good....what kind of wheels did you put in that setup?...i'm trying to do this with my 300D 1978; maybe 16's and definetly wider than 195's for more gripping power. As the norm, i dont want to sacrifice the ride quality of it however....

In my opinion a Mercedes should be left like it came out of the showroom, hardly ever do I see a custom upgrade I like, Mercedes designers did a really good job!
The European lights look better on a 126, no doubt about it. Changing the wheels made it more plump, the original wheels make the 126 real sleek looking. But your choice of rims is no a bad one, they match pretty well.

looks very nice to me some one powerpainted my rims and did do a nice job, and even painted the studs black. it wears 205 x 70 x 14" instead of the usual 195'ers. might have to start trading in the kids just so I can have more mb's in the driveway.

LOVE the wheels, in my opinion those are the best choise of MB wheels to use when updating an 80's merc! they look almost OE, and to me also look like a modern rendition of the bundt style wheels. If I didnt have to deal with spacers etc id have a set on my 300DT. SHARP car!! I know mudflaps arent to everyones liking, but Ive gotta say, I love them. If I had your 300SD, id add a set of mudflaps to complete the upgrades.

I got my Euro's for $300 from www.importvision.com and the clear corners from E-bay for like $35. Very easy to install. Let me know if you want the link to the installation process. I had it posted here a while back.
Diablo, Love that color. My bro-in-law had an '82 that color with the grey interior. That is the car that led me to buy my '85.

After just swapping out bunts to 16's with lo-pro tires on my 126 this week, it made a huge difference in the handling, esp. not following the road camber so annoyingly. So I guess if stock look is your thing it's great, but if you want a better feel, well...I can't see the wheels from the inside
