W116 300SD center dash vent question

Well questions. This is for a 1979 300SD with ACC (functioning)

What switch settings should you have air comming from the center dash vents. all functions are working but I never get air from center dash vents.

I don't yet have a mighty vac but I seem to think its the vacume elements most likely at fault.

are these something you can get out without removing the dash, something I really, really don't want to do.

If the 116 is like the 123, when the center vent pod goes bad it defaults to full defrost. Although I have 3 116 cars, I can not verify that they are simular.

Try a search for "center vents".

All my vents work as they should, except the center dash vents NEVER have air come out of them. I don't seen to notice there being Defrost action during all the settings however, but i will go out and give that a shot.

Center vents are for air conditioning/colder air. Hot air comes out the sides, feet, and windshield while cold comes out the center. Turn the wheel to the coldest position and air will start coming out the center within a 30 seconds. Mine takes awhile to srespond sometimes.
Thanks
David
