clunk, clunk, clunk around corners.....

Took a corner pretty hard the other day. Got a clunk, clunk, clunk from the passenger side. (left turn) It went away as soon as I straightened out. Jogged the wheel side to side again...nothing. Came home today and took a corner at moderate speed. Real bad clunk, clunk, clunk this time. Pulled over immediately and could find nothing wrong. Sounded good going straight. I popped the exhaust off one ot the muffler hangers the other day. It hung for a day or two until I could pop it back on. It hangs tight now. The only thing I could think of is the exhuast is hitting an axle. Maybe I bent the exhuast when I let it hang for a day or so. It does look a little crusty in the middle.

Or... You might have a bad axle. I hope not.

I bent and fussed with it, but mine hits the left inner part of the drive axle. It's not bad now, but will need adjustment later. If you sit in park and rap the throttle pretty hard, rocking the engine side to side, you can make it tap. All OEM parts, only part not original is the rear muffler assembly. Dunno what the deal it, but it's minor for now.

That too..

Has it occured to anyone that we could really, really use a good source or quality axles that don't cost as much as some of us's entire cars?

Mine say rockwell on the boots I believe, heck only knows where there from. Boots intact, but noisy sometimes..

Jack it up and check all the front end components. I'll bet you have a bad lower ball joint. My car did the same thing.

clunking around corners is ball joint. That is possible now that I think about it. Backing down my driveway is a *****. I go very slow and I hear the front end clunk sometimes.
