How Much Is My 87 300 Td Wagon Worth?

I have an 87 300 td wagon, with 195,000 miles that I bought on EBAY 6 months ago for $5300.00 -since then I have spent another $4000.00 in repairs, which I have reciepts, now due to a medical problem I need to sell it. If I put it back on EBAY what do you think I can get? Body and mechanics is excellent.

Some of what we might answer depends on what you did in repairs - that $4000. For example, if you replaced the aluminum head and timing chain - that's a plus. If you reconditioned the entire air conditioning system, including evaporator and compressor, that's a plus, etc.

If you spent $4000 in body work, that may or may not be a plus, depending on what suits the buyer.

So, a little more information and you might get some more people's opinions.

Do you have maintenance records for most of the car's life? If not, I think you'll be lucky to get your $5300 back.

This will sound really negative but I don't mean to discourage you.
I wish you good luck with the car sale and the medical situation.

I was watching '87 wagons about two years ago and was looking to pay a little less than you paid and was hoping for a car with lower mileage.

Glitz really seems to boost the price on MB eBay auctions. If you do not promote the car, it will show in the final price. A good many of the cheapest cars on eBay seem to be from near NYC, that may not help you.

$5,300 doesn't seem too far off especially with the price of gas compared to diesel. (about 25 cents/gal cheaper in Wash DC area) I may be a bit partial since I'll be selling my '87 sedan with 250K soon on Ebay and will price it at $3995. That's the Buy It Now price but with a little bit lower reserve.
