tinted windows and a new rear window seal
Over the past week I took my 85 300D in to have the windows tinted. During the process I removed the rear glass had the tint shop tint the glass out of car. I then spent several hours cleaning the seal area. Got the glass back today. Installed new seal with the help of my special lady. Looks great. Could not have done it with out the help and widsom of this forum. Thanks to all.
the seal is definitely do it your self project.

My seal was not leaking bad but i noticed some drips of water in the trunk. very little water was getting in. I was having the glass tinted so i figured it was a good time to replace the seal. Talked it over with the tint shop. the glass could have been in the car but it was easier and would be a be a better job if out of the car. Called around town for some quotes for just labor i was going to supply the seal. Lowest was $110 and the highest was $130.
I just forked out 96 bucks for dealer seal i wasnt going to pay another 100 for labor. So I did some reading and went for it. I think I did a much better job then the glass shop I took my time and cleaned everything up to a shine. I even pulled the headliner a little tighter. No more sag with the sunroof open. I didnt take any pictures even though i have a digital camera. I havet checked for any leaks. I am goin to wait about a week. I want that seal to sent well before i splash some water on it.

Is there any way to get the window tint off without destroying the rear defrost?
