Jacking points on 300D/Service Manuals
I recently acquired a 1985 300D Turbo with 126,000 miles. Car is in very nice shape and I want to keep it that way, so I've been doing all the routine maintence and taking care of any mechanical issues I am finding. (This site has been great). Can anyone tell me the best way to jack up this car with my floor jack, and where is it safe to place jack stands, both front and rear so as not to do damage. Neither the owners manual or my Haynes manual provides any information. Can I do a one shot lift in the rear under the differential, and than place stands under the unibody in line with the emergency jacking points? Unlike my other cars, I can't place jack stands under the axles. How about in the front? If my floor jack goes under the emergency jacking points, where can I place the stands?
Also, I find the Haynes manual to be too elementary and often falls short in some areas. Any other suggestions on repair manuals for this car.
