Anyone do a 87 300D W124 Timing Chain?
GSXR singlehandedly helped me fix my Turbo over the Internet, but he might as well have been standing their in my driveway, handing me the tools. Now its time to replace the Chain on my 87 300D W124. Has anyone done this?Any input on where you bought your chain? THANKS!

I rolled a new chain in the SDL. The only special tool I used was a rented chain pin swedger. Nothing to it. I've heard that folks peen the pins with a hammer and anvil. Dave recommends the sprocket guide tool.

Carrameow:
It would be interesting to find out just how much slack has developed in your chain once you have it out. How many miles on the current chain? I'll watch your post to educate myself too since if it is a breeze, I should consider changing mine too! I have approximately 183K on the replacement 603. |

I will be watching this post too, my chain will get done latter this year. I will have Phil price out an OE chain then try the dealer and see who is cheaper.
