Question Door Hinge Lubrication?

I noticed a very small female fitting in the center of my door hinges (87 300SDL)...is there a place to purchase a grease gun fitting/adapter to lube hinges via these little holes?...I recently purchased a grease "needle",but that is for injecting into roller bearings etc....that I am too cheap or location is too difficult to replace...would such a fitting be a MB Dealer Svc tool,only?...

Go to PEP Boys; rubber tip (& metal) adapter for $5.00 and works well.

Samstag sells a nice gun for this purpose but its about $40 (I have seen a Chinese knockoff for $9 but regret I didn't grab one when I had the chance!)

I always use WD40 to lubricate those door hinges.

Uh, not to sound preachy, but I believe that WD-40 smells great, cleans great -- but is a solvent, not a lube. Almost ANYTHING would work, long-term, better than WD-40. Just my .02.

That picture of the one from Samsag looks like one that I bought to lube my chain saw bar. It works well on MB door hinges too. You may want to stop in some place that sells chain saws and see if they have one for less than $40

I used spray white lithium grease. It has worked well for the last several months, but I know nothing of its staying power. Of course, it's real cheap and it only takes a second to re-do.

I have an attachment that goes on my grease gun. It has several configurations including steel and rubber needle tips. I'll check to see if I still have more than one. I picked up six or so about twenty years ago and don't remember where they came from.
